AFRICAN RESORT WEAR: BATIK AND DENIM
This men's two-piece overall and shirt ensemble was created out of batik fabric from Zanzibar, Africa and repurposed denim.
The overalls are comprised of reused denim patches that cover the front and back, and batik shorts and straps. There are inset pockets in the front, and a patch pocket in the back. There are adjustable straps, and a lot of fraying to go along with the repurposed and resort theme.
The shirt is also made of a woven African scarf, with a modern v-neckline. The armholes and neckline are finished with a denim binding, and the visible seams in the denim act as a design feature.
This ensemble was completed during the second semester, junior year, and was also featured in Syracuse Fashion Week 2018.
