PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT COLLABORATION:

CANDIE'S AT KOHL'S

This Product Development collaboration occurred with a company called JES Apparel, one of the design houses for Kohl's. We met with designers and project managers to discuss trends, customer demographic, and brand image. I was the designer and team leader for my group, Sweet tooth, designing for Candie's. After completing a six piece digital line board, JES Apparel chose two ensembles for me to construct and present to their design team.

This next ensemble is comprised of a shirt and skirt. The shirt is a modern tank top with a casing filled with elastic and a drawstring. There are little elastic sleeves tacked under the arm, so the shirt can have a "cold shoulder" look without the sleeves falling down. There is a small cutout at the top of the shirt, matching that of the dress. There are also small straps made from the metallic floral to support the top while also acting as a design feature. The satin drawstring also correlates with the other outfit.

The skirt is made from a bamboo jersey, with a mock placket and buttons down the center front. There is an invisible zipper at the left side seam and a waistband in the statement floral fabric. The length of this skirt is shorter, for more of a casual occasion.

This ensemble was completed during the second semester, junior year.
